Undergraduate Math Programs at UTSA

The UTSA Department of Mathematics offers the following options for undergraduate degrees.
  1. Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, with three possible concentrations:
    1. Mathematics (prepares students for graduate school in mathematics and for employment in industry)
    2. Mathematics for Teaching (prepares students to teach at the secondary or middle grades level as a certified mathematics teacher. This program integrates a specialized set of mathematics courses with courses from the B.S. in Mathematics, as well as the UTeachSA program, so that students can gain solid foundations in the mathematics and education fields to obtain the 7-12 Mathematics Teaching Certification.
    3. Mathematics of Data and Computing (prepares students for graduate school in applied/computational mathematics or computational science & engineering, and for employment in the rapidly growing industry fields of Data Science & Machine Learning). Is offered as a joint degree with the Department of Computer Science.
  2. Minor in Mathematics.
