My favorite courses to teach include business math (for the interesting financial applications), the calculus sequence (for modeling changes in our natural world), and linear algebra (for solving optimization problems, especially in the realm of technology).
Five years of work with UTSA’s Math Matters program, two of which as director, has given me a deep appreciation of the challenges and opportunities associated with teaching and supporting first-year students in our core algebra courses. I am proud to have contributed to the work of laying the foundation for student success in our STEM and business course sequences.
