UTSA Department of Mathematics 


The Department of Mathematics in the College of Sciences at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) invites applications for up to six (6) positions at the ranks of Lecturer I, Lecturer II, and Lecturer III, starting in Fall 2019. Rank upon appointment will be commensurate with the applicant’s experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities of Lecturers I, II and III include teaching four (4) undergraduate course sections each semester at the level of Calculus II and below, plus curriculum development and coordination with other instructors. Two of the positions will be filled to participate in a special program utilizing an emporium model for math instruction at the Business Mathematics, College Algebra and Pre-Calculus level.

Required Qualifications: (1) Lecturer I and II— a Masters’ degree in Mathematics or related field with a minimum of one year experience teaching at the collegiate level; (2) Lecturer III— a Doctoral degree in Mathematics or related field. Strong candidates with a Masters’ degree in Mathematics or related field and five years’ teaching experience at the collegiate level may also be considered for appointment at the Lecturer III rank.

Preferred Qualifications: A Doctoral degree in Mathematics or related field.
