Nonlinear and Nonlocal Phenomena in Mathematical Biology October 06, 2017 Seminars

Dr. Vu Hoang

Visiting Assistant Professor

UTSA Department of Mathematics

The goal of this talk is to give an introduction to basic mathematical modelling in biology. We will start with partial differential equations that describe the transport and movement of cells and explain why non-local effects are important. Next, I will explain the basic notions of existence and uniqueness for a class of non-local equations. Finally, I'll give an introduction to pattern formation.
